When you walk your dog in Dubai matters as much as how often. Ground temperature, humidity, and even air quality shift dramatically by season and time of day — here’s a practical breakdown by season.
Summer (June–September)
The only safe windows are early morning (before around 7–8am) and after sunset (after around 7pm), once pavement has had time to cool. Midday walks should be avoided entirely — even 10 minutes on hot pavement can burn paw pads. Keep walks brief even during safe windows if humidity is high.
Spring and Autumn (March–May, October–November)
More flexibility here, but afternoon heat still builds quickly. Morning and early evening remain the most comfortable windows; midday walks are tolerable for short periods but not ideal for longer exercise sessions.
Winter (December–February)
Dubai’s most walk-friendly season — daytime temperatures are comfortable for most of the day. This is the best time for longer walks, outdoor training, or trying dog-friendly parks and beaches that are impractical in summer.
General Tips Year-Round
- Always carry water, even for short walks — especially outside winter months
- Check pavement temperature with your hand before walking on unshaded surfaces
- Watch for signs of overheating regardless of season — humidity can make even a mild day feel harsher for a dog
- Early morning walks tend to have better air quality than evenings in high-traffic areas
Petspoiler’s Take
If your dog’s exercise routine is limited by Dubai’s climate for much of the year, regular grooming becomes even more important — a well-maintained coat helps with temperature regulation during the shorter walk windows they do get. See our dog grooming services or full summer safety guide.
